Video - Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway Anniversary

by Graham J R Whistler FRPS FBIPP and Gordon Rushton FCIT FILT MCIM

The glory of the RAER in its 125th Anniversary Year.

Winston Churchill from the flat-lands of Romney, runs through the beautiful Lake District scenery, speeding over fine stretches of track, with excellent action scenes.

One of the most powerful 15 inch gauge tank locomotives in Britain comes to do battle with the hills on the Ravenglass and Eskdale. Plus other visitors are to be seen in this interesting programme.

We take you up the line on an open carriage, inside the Muncaster Mill (sadly no longer possible!) and on the stations in a delightful portrayal of the railway in its 125th anniversary year.

See remarkable survivors like John and Synolda at work. Join Ursula, a beautiful Heywood replica, on an historic private outing which was recorded specially for this video.

This programme captures the true beauty of Lakeland for you to enjoy.

VHS (PAL) Video - Running time 55 mins approx.

On sale in our store since Monday 15 October, 2007.
